Saving me

When you stretch your hand to touch a life, is your life not touched by it as well? When you walk the extra mile to help someone, are you being helped in the process as well? When God sends us to bless someone, I believe He is also sending that someone to bless you. Many have realised that being a blesser means being blessed as well. The bible says: Refresh others, and you yourself will be refreshed. What an absolutely true fact. I sometimes think, serving in a ministry is for THEIR sake, is for the purpose of helping THEM. But I realise, serving has saved me, has helped me so much, has given ME joy, everything i want to offer the ministry i receive it myself. What an honour what a blessing what a privilegde it is! Its a cycle, you love the lost with a love that only comes from God, and at the same time you receive Gods love through helping the lost. Help me Lord, I am weak, help me want to serve you

Quoting main character evaines words from the movie stardust; "Love is unconditional, uncontrollable, unbearable.. Its like my heart belongs to you, and ill give it to you, asking for nothing in exchange, only that you love me the same way" I have to agree her words, not only in the way mankind loves each other, but isnt it a good description of Gods love for us? Afterall, mankind can only love each other becos God loved in the first place, and all love comes from God afterall. But what love is more unconditional, more unbearable, more true than that of the Father in Heaven? Who came down to die, asking for nothing in exchange? even when we sin against Him over and over, even when we fall short of His grace, He still loves us all the same..for theres nothing we can exchange for his love, but all He ask is that we love Him back. The Gift of Life

Havent updated a lot since work came into the picture. I got into the 5day work wk mind set..where friday is the best day and monday is the worst. Im sure its like that for most of us whether be it school, army or work. But this cant be right isnt it? God didnt create the monday blues its certainly not what He wants. We should constantly remind ourselves about how every breath is a gift from God and how we should rejoice in everything. Its a good practise to 'force' yourself to start the day by thanking God for as many things you can think of, it really works wonders, especially for days where you just cant get out of bed. Let the joy of the Lord be our strength and our delight in Him(: This is so not an emo song..haha

In the times of trouble, has God temperarily abandoned us? Has He left you on your own awhile until He comes and blesses you again? No, if theres something that comforts me, its the knowledge that God is in the battle with me; through my struggles, when youre hurting, when youre prosecuted, when youre struck down, when youre alone and crying out...God is there...and He will never leave you nor forsake you. We feel that Hes far, but hes actually there with you, what we have to do, is find Him. Have you found God in your battle? Its something really amazing... This song is a simple meditative piece sang to God. We far too many times fail to acknowledge God for everything He has given us, and not uncommon to find it unthinkable to be able to surrender everything to Him, giving your whole life to Him. But we fail to realize, everything is God-given, so what we surrender is His already, what we give is given to us at first from His hand. We often think giving to God will mean sacrificing relationships that mean so much to you, sacrificing happiness, but we yet again fail to realize that even how much good you get out of a friendship, how happy you are is determined by God as well. This has been a struggle for me..and im sure it is for many...to really say to God "Everything is Yours", but Lord who are we to say what is Yours?Who are we to give what is Yours to begin with?

What is worship to me?

1 Chronicles 16: 8-36

Why do we worship?
-Make known among nations what He has done (v8)
-Tell of His wonderful acts (v9)
-Rejoice (v10)
-Seek His face (v11)
-Remember the wonders He has done, His mirracles, His judgements (v12)
-Proclaim His salvation day after day (v23)
-Declare His glory among nations (v24)
-Ascribe to the Lord all glory and strength (v28)

Why do we worship the ONE we worship?
-His judgements are n all the earth (v14)
-He remembers his covenants forever (v15)
-Great is He, most worthy of our praise (v25)

How do we worship?

This a psalm of thanks king david wrote to God. David really knew how to worship God, and I beleive the key was He had a close reltionship with God, he KNEW God well. I believe worship is personal, and is different for every individual relationship with God. So what is worship to me personally? I have highlighted the points above that I can relate to in my walk as a worshiper. Thats worship to me individually. Of cos I have to add another reason,and a very important reason that did not exist in Davids time, it is the cross, and my redemption. A Winning Formula

'Running with the winners, read Hebrews 12' was written on his shirt when he crossed the finishing line. How true, how true. Indeed it is written there plainly for us, a winning formula. 3 steps to win in life-
1.Throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles
2.Run with perserverence, the race marked out for us
3.(and most importantly) Fix your eyes on Jesus- and step 1 and 2 will be accomplished

The Fathers pain

All of a sudden i was promted to write a song about this. I know i can never really put to words the pain the son, and the father went through, but this really gives me a clearer picture, of the agony, the ultimate sacrifice that had to be made. Serving the poor and needy is not a service or a ministry, it is a way of life. Who else demonstrated that better, then Jesus himself. And if you look even closer, its a 4 way conversation(do u see Jesus in the story?)The story of the prodigal son is indeed amazing. It leaves me speechless. Once i was like the prodigal son but God accepted me,ran to embrace me. Now if only my friend, you could come back to the father as well. Yes its only by love, dont let Him wait for you any longer..

A Church on FIRE

Sometimes we under estimate the importance of the church. We fail to realise that the church is the BRIDE of CHRIST. And when we do things as one, as a corperate body, there is power! I dont know what ill do without my church and spiritual family. And its not a sunday thing, its a daily thing. Lord, SET YOUR CHURCH ABLAZE!!!

This song is the first corperate song ive written, all the others are from a personal individual perspective kind of view. Ironically, this was the first tune that ever entered my mind. It came even before i wanted to write songs. Its kind of a upbeat-fast-rock song, unlike me. Well the lyrics nvr came until now haha. Your servant, Lord

The song 'Lord wont You use me' is a very simple song. I wrote it simply to tell God 'this is your servant, im willing, so use me according to Your purpose and to the best of my abilities.'

Serving in the youth music ministry in my church FCBC(faith community baptist church) is such an honour and priviledge. I cant believe God picked me to be His levite(: Its been a blast. But it hasnt always been. I was lost before in the wrong kind of music, stuff i really loved last time. I listen to music that preached bad values and some were even against God. I loved the attractive guitar licks and emotional feel to those songs. Well, one day a pastor from philipines visiting my church told me he used to listen to 'Guns N Roses' (something i was quite in to in the past) He then told me at my disappointment that after giving His life to God, he threw away ALL his cds of them. I thought to myself ' i could nvr throw away all my music'. But God kept convicting me, even tho i din want to, i knew i had too. One day, i took the v painful process of deleting all the songs from my computer. OUCH. but God then gave me a sense of peace, one i hadnt had in a long time. im glad to say, ever since then, its been no turning back! Deleting all those music unleashed so many of Gods blessings in my life. God always wanted to bless, but the wrong music was a barrier that was blocking me from His hand of blessings. From then, my guitar skills and music skills improved tremendously (i was stuck at a v lousy stage for a v long time)
And i of cos discovered the JOY in worshipping God! A joy better then any feeling the music i used to listen gave me(:

Ive been serving a yr or more in Touch childrens services (Touch Young Arrows). It was not something i signed up for or volunteered for. It came to me by accident, by uncommon circumstance. But all of a sudden God open my eyes and changed my perspective towards the kids. Ive developed such a heart for them through this time of serving. God even helped me see the kids through Jesus eyes. Yes they give me much pain and irritation, but i feel so compassionate towards them i cant describe it. I thank God for the priviledge and the strategic position im in to reach out to them. I go down to serangoon kids club every wk to give tuition and games to the kids. Just had a beyond great time planning a camp for these kids in march!

Serving God is not a chore, its an honour and a joy! I can testify to that. Theres nothing better than impacting anothr life. just like how that filipino pastor changed my life with just those few words, what more can we do for them! Thats why i cry out to God 'Use me for your glory!' Be the light for all to see(: Nothing is ever boring when youre serving God with the right heart

Revelation of the cross

We all yearn for a revelation of the cross. We want to see, and have a clearer view of what Jesus went through. The song below ' A journey back' is not just about going back in time and seeing. Its about how I was part of it, how i was part of my saviours cruxifiction, I WAS THERE. Well, i wasnt actually there 2 thousand yrs ago, but God has let me see..that i held that hammer, i held that nail, i plunged it in. We always say,'why were they so cruel??' but the truth is Jesus died for our sins, OUR sins. And therefore, we are the guilty ones, we were the ones that caused Him to suffer, we are the reason.

Besides this, the song also speaks of remarkable grace, that despite us cruxifying Him, it was US that he did it all for. How can it be?that a man that is perfect and had no sin, was able to forgive and suffer such a death. Yes, it was you, it was me He was thinking off when the nails pierced His hands. I cannot even begin to understand this concept, such grace, i will never understand it O Lord, thank You God.
