To the Cross

V1
Back to the cross I went
Where we first met, my friend
And I recall how I was lost, but now I stand here with you

Took my place at no cost
Wore my crown of thorns
I'm suppose to be the one, but there you bleed for me

I saw my saviour cry that night
You asked your father was there another way to make my blind eyes see...

Chorus
Then to the cross, on calvery
Tell me was it really worth saving me?
It still remains a mystery
How the King of Kings hangs thiere on a tree
And He thought of me

v2
And I ask which hurt you more?
Was it the nails that you bore?
Or my heart that turned from you, My Lord

Came as a mortal man
Became the one we condemmed
Yet in your last dying breath all you cried was 'Forgive them'

I saw my saviour die that night
And now I'm kneeling at your feet hanging on for my dear life...

Chorus
To the cross, on calvery
Tell me was it really worth saving me?
It still remains a mystery
How the King of Kings hangs thiere on a tree
And how He thought of me

He thought of me, he thought of me?
How can it be, how can it be?
It still remains a mystery
How this precious grace is all for free
And its all for me

Oh that cross, on calvery
How can it be worth saving me?
It still remains a mystery
How the King of Kings hangs there on a tree
And He thought of me...
